Cheerio from London!
After a long day of shuffling through the airport, a grueling plane ride and an endless bus ride to our dorms we finally arrived in rainy London.
We will start by bringing you back to the beginning of the journey. The day before the trip everyone was extremely nervous. Not knowing what class, the teacher and the weather would be like, we packed for a complete surprise. Knowing only a few people and some knowing none, everyone met up at Person Airport at 7 p.m. and said their good-byes. Before we boarded we stopped at the airport restaurant for a quick bite and then everyone took their tickets and boarded on flight TS 0422. After a cold and sleepless plane ride we finally arrived at London’s Gatwick airport. While going through customs we got a quick glance of what our classmates were like. Although everyone seemed friendly and kind no body was sure how things would work out.
The whole idea of us being away seemed very unreal. It only hit us when we walked out of the airport to board our bus and saw all the cars driving on the left side of the road. Many hours later a bus dropped off 32 sleepy teenagers and 4 teachers at University College London dorms. After unloading the luggage everyone had to make their way up to their room, carrying their 25 kg suitcase up flights of stairs because there was no elevator. Even though everyone was still tired, we had to make sure not to sleep to make sure that we could get adjusted to the time change as fast as possible.
Since most people did not eat on the plane we made sure to go to dinner right away. We went to the university dining hall and got our first taste of British cuisine. Everyone was starved and downed their entire plate in a matter of minutes even though the food was not exactly what we are used to.
Our curfew being 9 gave us a little over two hours to explore the area. Everyone came home way before curfew and was sound asleep by the time their head hit the pillow. Although it was a tiring travel day, everyone had a great time and could not wait to see more of the beautiful city London.
Cheers!

P.S. Happy Birthday Ms. Stokes!
